Notice on the use of AI

We are open about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) on this website, in line with Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, the Artificial Intelligence Act.

AI-generated images

The following mood images were generated with an AI model and do not show real places, people or objects:

• The main image on the home page (smoked trout and a smoked cheese on a board on a terrace in Mallorca).
• The smoked cheeses in a wooden smoking cabinet.
• The hands with smoked mackerel on a wooden rack.
• The preview images that appear when the website is shared on social media.

These are mood images: they show what beech smoking dust is used for, but they are not photos of the product you buy.

Real photos

The photos of the beech smoking dust on the product page and all the photos in the guide to filling and lighting a cold smoke generator are real photographs taken by us. They carry no label; their metadata identifies them as camera photos (digitalCapture) with their author.

How we label them

• Visibly: every AI-generated image carries the label “AI-generated image” directly on it. In the preview images for social media, the label is part of the image itself.
• In machine-readable form: the files contain IPTC/XMP metadata with the digital source type trainedAlgorithmicMedia, the note “Generado con IA. KI-generiert. AI-generated.” and the name of the model used.

Model used

The images were generated in October 2026 with OpenAI’s GPT Image 2.5 model, via the kie.ai service. We checked each one individually before publishing it.

Some texts on this website were written with the help of AI tools. All texts are reviewed and published by Bona Brasa, which takes editorial responsibility for their content.
